Be still.

Not because you must.

Not because you should.

Not because it is spiritual.

Be still because something in you

has always been watching.

Before thought.

Before memory.

Before identity.

Before the story you learned to call yourself.

There is a presence here

that does not move.

It does not seek.

It does not improve.

It does not become.

It only sees.

This is not something you achieve.

This is what remains when effort ends.

The witness was never created.

The witness was never damaged.

The witness was never absent.

It is the place from which

all seeing happens.

If you notice this,

even for a moment,

you have already arrived.

And nothing else is required.
